More About Us and ASG

ASG National Organization

The American Sewing Guild is a non-profit organization. We are the Greater Seattle chapter, which covers the northern Puget Sound Area. To the south is the Olympia chapter, to the west is the Silverdale chapter, and to the east is the Spokane/Couer D'Alene chapter.

We welcome anyone who is interested in learning about or sharing their love of sewing.

Neighborhood and Special Interest Groups

At the core of each chapter of the American Sewing Guild are the groups. In our chapter, we have both neighborhood groups -- groups that are based on where people live -- and special interest groups -- groups that are focused on a particular area of sewing. Both groups offer:

education: demos, lectures, exposure to the new and unknown
show and tell: sharing your successes and finds, getting help with your problems
connection: connecting and networking with other sewing enthusiasts
special programs: field trips, special guest presenters, and more!

We welcome visitors! You can attend up to two meetings at any group before deciding to join ASG. And you don't have to live in a particular area to come to a neighborhood group -- chapter members are welcome to attend whichever meetings they like.

ASG members can attend meetings anywhere ASG has a chapter. If you're traveling to another region of the country, find out about the ASG chapter there and see what they have going on! You can find out about other ASG chapters at the national ASG site.

If you don't see a neighborhood group convenient to you, drop us a line and let us know. If enough people in an area are interested, a new group can be started!

		June 7	After the sloper, then what?? Judy Barlup shows us how to use the sloper for fitting adjustments.
		July 12	Tissue fitting, sloper fitting, measuring, pattern adjustments. Bring your project in tissue, muslin, or finished form to get help on fit.
		Aug 2	In July we worked on fit. This month we're going to SEW! This is an open sewing meeting. Bring a garment, quilt, home dec, mending!
