The Greater Seattle chapter of the American Sewing Guild

The American Sewing Guild is a non-profit organization. We are the Greater Seattle chapter, which covers the northern Puget Sound Area. To the south is the Olympia chapter, to the west is the Silverdale chapter, and to the east is the Spokane/Coeur D'Alene chapter.

We welcome anyone who is interested in learning about or sharing their love of sewing.

We're the Greater Seattle chapter of the American Sewing Guild. The American Sewing Guild (ASG) is a national non-profit organization for people who love to sew! ASG is open to all skill levels and all areas of interest - whether it's garments, couture, quilts, home dec, or accessories. Try us out! We have 8 neighborhood groups from Ferndale to Renton, and 4 special interest groups. See the Groups and Meetings page and visit a group that's of interest to you!

The Greater Seattle Chapter was awarded Chapter of the Year (Large Chapter) at the 2009 National ASG Conference in Albuquerque this past July. This honor is the result of our Chapter's efforts in promoting sewing as a life skill, education events, volunteer work for charities, and member participation.

Announcing our newest sewing Special Interest Group: Ronald McDonald Mending Group! The Seattle Ronald McDonald House has a need for mending bed linens, making rags from worn out towels, and repairing bed clothes and other items. The Ronald McDonald Mending Group meets on the first Tuesday of each month. For more information, visit the Groups and Meetings page.

Seattle ASG Presents Susan Khalje: We are happy to present Susan Khalie, she established her conture sewing school in 1993, and teaches conture sewing around the country.

Our Fall Retreat will be October 8, 9 and 10 at Camp Huston Gold Bar: Twice a year, Greater Seattle ASG members enjoy a three day sewing retreat, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Gather up your sewing supplies, fabrics and sewing machines. Come join us, where we indulge our passion for sewing,friendship, learning, and support.

Greater Seattle Chapter Annual Meeting and 10th Anniversary Celebration: October 30, You won't want to miss this one! Annual Chapter Potlucj Brunch, Silent Auction, Board Election and Sew Challenge contest. And this year is our 10th Anniversary Celebration.

Seattle ASG Presents Jacque Goldsmith: Learn from the sewsmith herself Jacque has over 25 years of experience in the apparel industry and shares her knowledge with humility and humor.

After Expo Banquet with Linda MacPhee! We welcome Linda MacPhee as our guest speaker this year at the Greater ASG After Expo Banquet on February 27, 2010 starting at 6 PM. Come relax and enjoy dinner with your fellow ASG members and guests after a hard day of shopping and seminars at the Puyallup Sewing and Stitchery Expo. Cost is $45. Register now!
