
Education Events Chair

The education chair is in charge of bringing opportunities to chapter members for learning more about sewing and for increasing their sewing skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Recommending the number and content of programs for the year to the Chapter Advisory Board (CAB) considering input from CAB and members as well as keeping President and CAB up to date on planning status at monthly CAB meetings, or as needed.
- Program Management:
- Submitting program budget and securing CAB approval.
- Identifying and contracting presenters.
- Making travel and accommodation arrangements for presenters, if needed.
- Locating and booking venues.
- Arranging for needed equipment (e.g., audio-visual equipment, flip charts, tables, etc.) and supplies (e.g., sample kits); and setting up venue.
- Publicizing events to members through newsletter, website and Facebook posts.
- Managing online registration and payment system (currently Stripe).
- Submitting all expense reimbursement requests and check requests to the Treasurer in a timely manner.
- Evaluating and reporting on programs’ success and determining final costs, profits, attendance figures, and suggestions for improvements.
