I’m interested in making a 60-inch round tablecloth in vinyl for a small patio table. Walmart has vinyl on bolts and I see one or two that would complement tbe tableware/etc that we use outside. Would consider it my muslin version.
Am hoping to hear hints about 1) sewing with vinyl, 2) how to make nice selvedges/edges on a round vinyl tablecloth, 3) benefits of using a serger versus regular sewing machine along with suggestions for stitches. I have made one bag which had a vinyl lining in a recent class at Everett’s Quality Sewing and Vacuum store — learned several things, including using a needle (denim-weight) on a regular sewing machine.
I have searched the Internet and found a few helpful sites but I would rather get advice from sewing friends near me 🙂
Did like The Perfect Fit Tablecloth Tutorial – she added a “hem” to make a fitted rectangular tablecloth
Am also going to post this request later today on the GS ASG Facebook page. Thanks for any help!
