Hi Skagit Seamstresses,
We will not have our regular June meeting at Quality Sewing.
Instead we will meet at Maker’s Hideaway 19805-32nd Ave NW, Stanwood, on June 9 from 10 am until 2 pm.
We will be making dog beds to donate to NOAH and the Humane Society.
This is an excellent chance to let your imagination go wild and use up all the fabric scraps you have saved and don’t know what to do with as well as stash fabrics that you can’t get inspired by.
Here is an article I found on a general idea for the dog beds https://lovebugstudios.com/how-to-make-a-dog-bed-for-an-animal-shelter/
And any of you are welcome to chime in with ideas.
Kris Wollan checked on dimensions at the Skagit Shelter and reported this back:
Dog Beds: 4’ X 4’
Cat Beds: 12”-18” wide and 24” Long. They like fleece and pastel colors.
You will need to bring:
Fabric for outer bed
Scraps for stuffing
Sewing machine
Cutting tools
Thread
Measuring tools
Whatever else you like to sew projects with!
I will miss this meeting as I will be visiting 97 year old dad in Michigan to make sure he hasn’t built himself a ladder after I took his away.
Have a fabulous time and take pictures for our ASG member site and Facebook page!
