I’m an enthusiastic fan of thrifting clothing etc. so I was very excited about going to a comprehensive workshop in Ferndale this spring. It was hosted by the Ferndale guild and included patching holes by sashiko, fusible, sew-on designs etc. There were several presenters and, seemingly as usual, members brought stuff to give away. It was fabulous to be part of this, and it must have been my lucky day because the fabulous upcycled red and white coat was up for grabs!! It grabbed me! I tried it on and the rest of the group seemed to think it was appropriate for me. I still feel lucky and grateful to belong with such amazing group of women! I wear it when I either need a lift or to rock some red! The skirt in the picture came from Mercer Island Thrift and has texture, love it! And the lace top came from the Edmonds Senior Thrift. The wonderful jacket with pockets and a hood was created by Bella Sisters who I believe closed shop in 2017. They donated a few to Whitney Dickinson, who hosted the workshop. They do seem to be timeless, however! And such a generous gift by Whitney to me!!
