“Late summer greetings!  This is a reminder, along with the Zoom link, about next 9/17 Wednesday’s Book Club meeting, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

There was interest expressed at the July 16th meeting to spend more time on sharing about nonfiction books.  For fiction books, to have members propose titles which are well-written and not cursory or “by the way, let’s have a [seamstress] as one of the characters.”  Most of our fiction titles just haven’t “happily threaded our reading time”  (that’s my attempt at trying to make a joke).

At the Zoom meetings, let’s still share about fiction titles that we’ve enjoyed which have some sewing connection as a chance to find a fiction title or two to read and discuss.  I have one to propose next week for a future meeting – you’ll be hearing about The Dress Shop on King Street by Ashley Clark.

Get ready to enjoy the meeting:
– Greetings and welcome for any new attendees (5 min)
– Round-robin sharing about nonfiction and fiction titles.  Please plan to add titles into the Chat either before or after you talk, let me know if I can help! (about 30 min)
– We’ll be also watching a fifteen-minute documentary called Eunice Olumide: Creating Sustainability in Fashion and Textiles: Change Makers.  Followed by brief comments, discussion, etc.  (25 min total)

The date for this next Zoom Book Club meeting was listed inaccurately in the related article in the chapter’s September newsletter.  It said “September 16” but the correct date is “Wednesday September 17.”  See you then!
