Chris Haynes will take us on her journey in dying fabric with a Power Point presentation.  Over the years Chris has collected many resources including early articles from Threads Magazine, links to on-line stores that sell products and kits, plus links for instructions.  If you are interested in just changing the color, or if wearable art is your gig, there will be a wealth of valuable information and links that she will share with us.

Of course, there will be show and tell and time to visit with sewing friends.  If you are not on the North Seattle mailing list and would like to come, send me an email at suetripp98@gmail.com and I add you to the list.  The link will go out on the Friday before the Saturday meeting.

It was fun.  Here is the Google Drive link with the notes and lots articles:  https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1959QElbiH1lNCW58RnpBTvadMbtQhxnv?usp=sharing

And that is just the tip of iceberg, there are so many techniques and  types of dye.

“The Cat” dye mill:  https://www.verfmolendekat.com/en/ in Zaanse Schans, Netherlands.

An oblique history of dye because the first chemical ones were literally deadly:  “The Poisoner’s Handbook” by Deborah Blum.  Her other book on the history of the FDA is “The Poison Squad” (do you see a trend).  Anyway, it turns out the wife of the guy who essentially created the FDA was freaking awesome.  It is non-fiction books like these that made me give up on fiction.
