All members are invited to attend the Zoom Book Club meeting, listen to the discussion and share about what you’re reading or listening to, & consider joining this special interest group. We meet six times a year and also enjoy seeing each other at other chapter group mtgs, classes & events. We meet next on Wed, Mar 18, from 7:00 to 8:30pm.  Discussion questions and Zoom meeting link are below.

• Discussion on By Her Own Design: a Novel of Ann Lowe, Fashion Designer to the Social Register by Piper Huguley
• Please come with suggestions for July and September titles; reminder that you’ve already read or listened to your book suggestion and loved it enough to recommend to us! Non-fiction and fiction titles are welcome.
• Reminder of May book: Wednesday, May 20: Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker, a novel by Jennifer Linda Chiaverini

  3. Mrs. Josephine Lee was a real woman. Why do you think she was so good to Ann Lowe?
  4. Who do you think helped Ann the most in her climb to be a Negro fashion designer?
  5. Why do you think the high-society clientele that Ann designed for always sought to lower her prices?
  6. Were you surprised by Ann’s decision to design for only white clients?
